Terms of Sale

Last updated

These terms apply when you order and pay on liegewaffles.co.za. Please read them before you pay. By placing an order, you agree to them. If we change them, the version on this page when you ordered applies to your order.

Who you're buying from

Liège Waffles and Quiver Café are run by Quiver Foundation NPC, a non-profit company (registration number 2024/209414/08, PBO 930086507). Our directors are Luke Robert McGowan, Endriette Wilhelmiena Gie and Willem Henning Vorster.

Our address, where legal documents may also be served, is 96 Victoria Rd, Woodstock, Cape Town 7925. You can reach us at cafe@quiverfoundation.org or on WhatsApp at +27 65 957 8947.

Prices

Prices are in South African rand and are not subject to VAT, because we aren't VAT-registered. The basket shows the total before you pay, including any discount and the delivery fee. Photos show what our waffles look like, but each one is made by hand and may look a little different.

Allergens

Our waffles contain gluten, dairy and egg, and are made in a kitchen that also handles nuts and soya. Each waffle's page lists its allergens. If you have a serious allergy, please contact us before ordering.

Ordering and paying

Your order is confirmed once your payment goes through. You pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the secure payment page of Yoco, our payment provider. Your card details go straight to Yoco, and we never see or store them.

After paying, you're taken to a confirmation page with your order number and status. Keep that page or a screenshot of it as your record of the order. If you need a copy later, email us your order number and we'll send you what was ordered and what was paid.

We may refuse or cancel an order, for example when an item has sold out or we've had to close unexpectedly. If we do, we'll contact you and refund you in full.

Collection

Collection orders are ready at 96 Victoria Rd, Woodstock, on our next operating day, during opening hours. Please bring your order number.

Delivery

We deliver through Uber Direct, within the area Uber covers from the café. You'll see the delivery fee, Uber's own price, before you pay, and it's added to your total. Delivery orders can be placed until 13:30 on days we're open.

We start preparing your order as soon as you've paid. A courier is booked to collect it about 10 minutes later. Delivery times are Uber's estimate and can change with traffic and courier availability. Uber will send a tracking link by SMS to the phone number you give us, so please keep your phone on.

If the courier can't reach you at the address, we'll try to contact you. If your order comes back to the café, you can collect it the same day, but we can't refund the food or the delivery fee.

If Uber cancels your delivery, we'll re-book it or refund you in full, including the delivery fee.

Cancelling an order

Our food is made fresh to order. A paid order can't be cancelled once we've started preparing it, but call or WhatsApp us straight away and we'll refund you if we haven't.

If something's wrong

If an item is missing, wrong or damaged, contact us on the same day with your order number and a photo. We'll replace the item or refund you for it, at our choice.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Yoco. They usually reach your account within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.

Your information

We use your name, phone number and address only to make and deliver your order. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who we share it with (including Yoco and Uber) and how long we keep it.

Complaints

If you're unhappy, please contact us first, and we'll do our best to put it right. If we can't, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission.

These terms are governed by South African law, and nothing in them limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or ECTA.
